Why study Digital Marketing?

Digital Marketing Demand

There is currently a skills gap in the digital marketing workforce where marketers are entering into digital marketing jobs without the appropriate skills. According to Deloitte, there was an estimated need for approximately 300,000 professional digital marketers in Australia in 2021.

The demand for digital marketing professionals outstrips supply by 44%. There is also an undersupply of local digital marketers as 30% of Australia’s digital marketing talent are expatriates. The market for digital marketing is global! The countries with the highest demand for digital marketers include:

  • United States
  • United Kingdom

Reskilling and upskilling existing employees as well as training new people to obtain specialised skills is becoming a priority for businesses to remain competitive.
